2025-2026 Standard Selection Scholarship Application Is Now Open

Students from around the world apply each year for this amazing cultural experience often referred to as “the best year of  their life”. We welcome any students who meet the qualifications to apply.

GRSP Class of 2023-24 includes 20 males and 22 females from 24 countries. The scholars are sponsored by 93 Rotary Clubs within Georgia and attending 24 public and private colleges/universities throughout the state

This program is one-of-a-kind. We have been bringing nations together since 1946. The program began with only 4 scholars, and now we are proud to say that we have more than 3,692 alumni from all over the world. The program’s purpose is to broaden the understanding of world peace through people and that is exactly what we’ve done.

Enzo Ferrarini’s life goal is to always improve and he believes there is always something more to learn. Enzo, 23 from Brazil is attending Georgia Gwinnett College and sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Gwinnett County and Gwinnett Sunrise. He is enjoying his class in Leadership at GGC, and proclaims, “Being able to learn theoretical and practical skills with such a great professor and awesome resources makes me so happy.” His favorite aspect of his GRSP year so far is definitely the people. “Getting to know so many good people here who are willing to help you and having friends from all over the world is so incredible,” he said. “An experience only GRSP is able to make possible, so that’s why I appreciate Rotary and the program so much for this once in a lifetime opportunity!”

Déjà vu, the feeling that you have already experienced something that is actually happening for the first time, seems to be the reality for Max Raitt, GRSP Class of 24-25. Max, from Scotland, is attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and is sponsored by Bainbridge Rotary Club, Camilla Rotary Club and Rotary Club of Pelham. Max’s dad, Alastair Raitt, participated in GRSP as part of the Class of 94-95, attending West Georgia College, now known as the University of West Georgia, and sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Roswell-East and Alpharetta North.
Max grew up hearing the stories of GRSP from his dad as well as his Aunt Suzanne, who also participated in the program 1993-1994 attending Georgia Southwestern State College with sponsorship from the Rotary Clubs of Americus and Cordele. Both relatives repeatedly told Max that it was the best experience of their lives. He knew he had to experience it for himself.
“While here in Georgia, I plan to make the most of my stay by experiencing as much as I possibly can and embrace as many culture differences as possible.” Max said.
Alastair recently returned to Georgia to visit his son. The duo were able to join forces and play together in the 50th anniversary celebration match for the Atlanta Old White Rugby Football Club on September 21, which Max said was a “once in a lifetime opportunity to play together on the same team.” Alastair also joined Max for Max’s presentation to the Rotary Club of Pelham along with a lunch with Max’s GRSP Trustee and host, James Eubanks and wife Sarah. Adela Ford of Camilla and Bo Jones of Bainbridge also serve as Max’s host Rotarians.

Being a part of the Georgia Rotary Student Program has been one of the most profound experiences of my life. This program has afforded me the opportunity to forge lasting friendships with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. This, perhaps, is the greatest gift that one can hope to get for it allows us to see through differences across cultures and instead find similarities between one another. I feel that such fellowship across participants, both students and host families, is what made this program such an enriching experience for me.

Since 1946, Rotarians in Georgia, USA, have promoted world peace through understanding by offering ambassadorial scholarships to international students for one year cultural immersion and of study in Georgia colleges and universities.

Each year, students from all over the world make friends in the United States and other nations and learn about differing cultures and lifestyles. Georgia Rotarians believe “Peace is Possible” and through GRSP promote international goodwill through friendship and understanding.

The students become adopted members of a Georgia “host family,” living on-campus at the school they attend. This is an ambassadorial scholarship program, not an exchange!

Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsor students recommended by a Rotary Club in their home country.
